I first met Rick of Petra Building Solutions (PBS) back in 2020 while looking for a supplier of Structurally Insulated Panels (SIPS) to build a Passive Home with. Rick has a good understanding of Passive Homes and the building science behind them. Not only was PBS a supplier of SIPS, they also represented some of the best in class Canadian manufactures of triple pane windows, electric radiant heating panels, smart home light switches & thermostats and a very unique ERV. Rick and I had many lengthy conversations on weekdays and weekends, discussing all of these products and the merits for using them. Rick sells by providing facts, he's not a pushy salesperson. Ricks knowledge and understanding of the products is what made the decision easy for me to use PBS. Until I spoke with Rick, I had never heard of electric radiant heating. Early on I was very skeptical about this technology, but after much (third party) data provided by Rick, speaking directly with ThermaRay and my own research, I was convinced that it was the way to go. I built my home using PBS supplied R27 SIPS manufactured in Quebec, FiberTec Triple Pane Fiberglass Windows & Doors, ThemaRay Radiant Ceiling Panels, Sinope smart switches and thermostats and a Minotair PentaCare V12 Compact Air Treatment Unit - much more than your average ERV ! I just recently completed my home and have moved in. All of the products supplied by PBS are performing as the Manufacture and Rick stated that they would !
